Where kids can swim in Marin County (Novato to Sausalito) — drop-in family, open, or recreation sessions plus pools with dedicated kid-friendly or warm-water areas. Lap swim and classes excluded. Verify before you go.
🌤 Most Marin pools are seasonal. As of late April 2026, year-round indoor venues (Marin YMCA, Osher Marin JCC, Mill Valley Community Center) are open. Outdoor pools open in stages — Terra Linda is already open; Marinwood opened April 1; Hamilton (Novato) opens May 23; McNears Beach opens Memorial Day; College of Marin pools open mid-June. Most published rec-swim time blocks are not yet available — pools showing "facility open" rather than specific session times need a phone call to confirm exact family-swim windows.

Cities with no public pool: Sausalito, Tiburon, Belvedere, Larkspur, Corte Madera, San Anselmo, Fairfax, Ross, Kentfield (Kentfield has College of Marin's pool, not a town pool). Residents of these areas typically use Mill Valley CC, Strawberry Rec, or Marin YMCA.

McNears Beach Park (San Rafael): seasonal community pool open Memorial Day to Labor Day. Day-use parking fee applies — verify current fees on the Marin County Parks website.

Only year-round 90°F warm pool in Marin: Osher Marin JCC indoor pool. Useful for toddlers and aquatic therapy.

Skipped (private members-only, not drop-in): Bay Club Marin, Bay Club Rolling Hills, Mill Valley Tennis Club, Marin Country Club, Tiburon Peninsula Club, Belvedere Tennis Club, Larkspur Swim & Racquet Club, Marin Academy Aquatic Center.

Lap-only school pools: Tamalpais HS (Mill Valley), Redwood HS (Larkspur). The TUHSD community swim program is lap swim only — no family/rec swim for the public.

Northbridge Pool (Santa Venetia) requires a seasonal membership — listed for completeness but not a drop-in venue.
